What it means
Agentic shopping is the consumer-facing behavior enabled by agentic commerce. Current examples include AI assistants that monitor price drops and auto-reorder consumables, browser agents that fill out checkout forms on command, and AI models integrated with payment providers that can complete purchases end-to-end. As these capabilities mature across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot, the purchase path shifts from human-browsed to agent-executed.
Why it matters for Shopify
Shopify stores with machine-readable product pages, fast-loading APIs, and frictionless checkout are better positioned for agentic shopping transactions as AI agents become mainstream.
