Prompt Ranking
The position your store occupies when a specific buyer query is submitted to an AI platform.
What it means
Just as a Google rank tells you where your page appears for a keyword, a prompt rank tells you whether your store appears — and in what position — when a buyer types a natural-language question into ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini. Prompt ranks are non-deterministic (they vary run to run) so they're measured statistically across repeated queries. The goal is to be mentioned consistently, first, and favorably. A store ranked #1 in prompt results for "best ergonomic office chair under $500" gets the same buyer intent that a Google #1 result gets — without paying for an ad.
